What Sold On eBay February 11-17
I have four sales to report for this week’s edition of What Sold on eBay. Some of these sales were big surprises for different reasons!
So, I’m only showing one of these pictures, but I sold two of these Valentine’s Day heart shirts! I purchased these at a local thrift store after Valentine’s Day last year. They were in pristine condition! They really looked like new, except there were no tags. So, I listed them quickly, thinking they would sell before Valentine’s Day. However, the closer it got to Valentine’s Day, the more I became convinced these weren’t going to sell, and I would be stuck with them for a while. Well, lo and behold, one sold ON Valentine’s Day, and the other sold on the 17th! Wow! In any case, I was very happy to ship these out, and that’s two less holiday items I have to worry about.
This next item was a medical book that I picked up at least two years ago. It was vintage, and I wasn’t sure if it would sell because most of the material was very outdated. It was in a box of medical books, so I figured this came from someone’s collection. I picked up a few different books and sold a couple in the past, but I had this one and another one left. This book clocked in at almost six pounds when I packed it up to ship off! Whoa! Definitely the heaviest book I’ve sold!
The last item I sold was a blue Polo by Ralph Lauren shirt that I purchased at full price for my son. If you know this brand, you know it is not cheap. He tried it on once, and it didn’t fit, and stupid me had already taken off the tags, so I couldn’t sell it new with tags, which I could have sold for more money. However, I was willing to let it go for this price. It wasn’t a fast seller, probably because there is so much competition for polo shirts on eBay, but it finally sold, and I was glad to see it go and recoup some of my money.
eBay Sold By The Numbers
Total Items Listed– 100
Total Items Sold- 4
Fees- $30.98
Final Profit- $84.96
As far as fees go, I have a basic store, but I do promote my items to the percentage that eBay suggests.
Final Thoughts– I am seriously considering lowering the percentage that I promote my items. It’s something I waffle back and forth on a lot. I want my items seen, but the fees are high on items that sell for larger amounts. The fees alone on the Polo shirt were almost $15 (final value and promoted listings).
